The legendary post punk band A Certain Ratio (ACR) included Martin Moscrop (guitar and trumpet) the longest serving member who would later form Swamp Children with saxophonist Anthony Quigley and then Kalima. Other members of A Certain Ratio became, Quando Quango, T-Coy and Swing Out Sister. Kalima recruited Dave Higgins on drums in the mid 1980s. In his Hacienda days Dave Higgins, signed to Factory Records playing for Kalima toured ineternationally alongside Arturo Sandoval, Style Council, James Taylor Quartet, Happy Mondays, Robin Jones and many more.
